Mission Statement: Perceptions Dance exists to create, promote and build access to dance.

Perceptions Dance explores life through movement. The choreography and works created under Perceptions Dance are designed to make dance accessible to audiences of all kinds.  With a strong focus on creation, collaboration, and presentation of contemporary dance, Perceptions Dance provides artistic opportunities to artists and audiences at every level.

The Festival

In 2010 Perceptions Dance created the Perceptions Dance Festival. The goal of the festival is the provide choreographers and companies with the opportunity to have their work fully presented, with a strong focus on advertising, press, networking and documentation in a state-of-the-art facility.

The first Festival – held on September 18th at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center – was a huge success, presenting the work of 9 artists from across the country. Since, the Festival has presented the works of over 40 national and international artists.  The festival incorporates a strong focus on networking by providing an open reception for artists and audiences post-show where artists can discuss their work and build their audiences further.
