On Tuesday, the Washington women’s basketball team made its first addition of the offseason, picking up junior center Yulia Grabovskaia from Michigan.

With the departure of graduate forward Dalayah Daniels and senior forward Tayra Eke, head coach Tina Langley had two holes in Washington’s regular rotation to fill in; with Grabovskaia, one of those pieces is potentially in place.

With the Wolverines this past season, Grabovskaia had a complementary role, averaging 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds a contest in 13.5 minutes. Grabovskaia had one of her best games of the season against Washington on Jan. 15, putting up 10 points on a season-high five makes, alongside three rebounds and two steals.

Before Michigan, Grabovskaia had a one-year stint with Middle Tennessee.

Grabovskaia is the first designated center the Huskies have had since the 2021-22 season. At 6-foot-5, she is the second-tallest player set to be on Washington’s roster next season, behind junior forward Olivia Anderson at 6-foot-6.

Grabovskaia is also the second newcomer for UW’s frontcourt as of now, with a four-star and 22nd-ranked prospect in the country, forward Brynn McGaughy, committed for the 2025-26 season.
